If you’ve never climbed anything more challenging than a set of stairs, don’t be deterred: the team will show you the ropes and kit you out with all the gear. The pursuit becomes easier as you develop upper body strength, but in truth climbing is popular with people of all ages and strengths. You choose the ascent and you pick the pace. Once you’ve slipped on your climbing shoes and dusted your digits in chalk, it’ll be time to grasp for the handholds that are scattered across the rocky outcrops. A great place to visit whether you are an experienced climber (boulderer) or if it's your first time. There's a strong sense of community about the place, and enough variety in the level of the climbs to keep everyone happy, and challenged. The setting (the old Byker swimming pool) is also fantastic.
